Is Your life out of sync with your heart?

Find the Way You Know to be True

You spend your life trying to do what’s right. You follow the wisdom of those above you and around you. You pour your faith into the teachings of the sacred Word passed down to you. You put your community’s interests ahead of your selfish desires. You devote your heart to the truth. . . . Only, you’re not sure what that is anymore.

This was the first 35 years of my life. On the surface, I thought I was living out God’s will. I served Him full time, and I was happy to. But I could never shake the deeply entrenched fear that I was a phony, that I was doing it wrong—I questioned MY faith more than I questioned THE faith. Gradually, that began to change to the point when I couldn’t contain the inner conflict. I didn’t go through deconstruction. It was self-destruction.

I went far too long without talking to anyone, and my life as I knew it fell apart. It struck me what unfair expectations we put on our faith. The pressure to be perfect causes us to pretend we’re living up to impossible standards, standards we don’t even truly believe we’re supposed to meet. You become two different people: the person you are, and the person you’re forced to pretend to be.

It's Time for Authenticity

Crisis wasn’t the end of my story. I put my life back together. And I put my faith back together, from scratch. I studied not just faith, religion, and philosophy, but also the psychology behind it all. What I found were the answers I had needed all along . . . not necessarily all the right beliefs but rather a healthy and well rounded path to follow in my search for a faith that was authentically mine. And I did it without anyone else steering me according to their own agenda.

My faith now is almost entirely different from what it used to be. I’m no longer a Christian. For me, the path of discovery is the way. And that’s one thing that makes me a good spirituality coach: I’m infinitely more interested in helping you discover your path than I am in promoting mine. If your path leads toward Christianity or toward atheism or any other swath of the spectrum of faith, I’m here to support you in finding your way.

It only took me 36 years to address the problem . . . and another 10 to search out my path to on my own. Regrets? The biggest one (and definitely not the only one) was stubbornly doing it alone. Along the way my own winding, bumpy road helped me realize something. One of the reasons people stay in communities, churches, or in their own little corners of denial is that they don’t have an easy path to follow when they’re not tracing someone else’s steps.

That’s why I developed The Wayfinder’s Path, my 12-week program for anyone who feels lost in life, particularly in their spirituality. The Wayfinder’s Path is not a belief system—it’s a coach-supported, step-by-step approach to cultivating a belief system or worldview according to your values, needs, and priorities. I strongly believe everyone should have the chance to plot their own path, but nobody should have to go through it alone.

Devoting 10 years to studying the human mind, soul, and heart (and making my fair share of mistakes along the way) gave me the opportunity to learn the common pitfalls and overreactions as well as  the crucial strategies and steps you absolutely don’t want to skip. I wanted to do more than create content or courses. I wanted to create a system for finding your way when you get lost spiritually. And I wanted to meet with people one on one to guide them through it. Every person’s experience is unique, and as a spirituality coach (as opposed to some kind of guru or spiritual leader) I will listen to your experience. I can help you identify your values, strengths, and priorities. We then employ those unique qualities to your search for a way forward.

The Wayfinder’s Path is a 12-week coaching cycle designed to help you identify where you are and what’s in your way. Together, we can follow my step-by-step system with you at the helm and me by your side. You will learn to approach your faith with clarity instead of doubt and with hope instead of fear. You’ll be reminded of the essential qualities that make you you, and you’ll learn how to use your core values and strengths to navigate out of a faith crisis and into an authentic belief system. You’ll gain confidence, build trust, and develop a method for pursuing healthy, life-giving communities to engage with. You will gain the tools necessary to finally discover the peace of a life lived in sync with your faith and your worldview. You won’t have the entire universe figured out in 90 days, but you will learn an approach to finding your way that will keep you headed in a direction you can believe in.

What if you could navigate personal disagreements and differences of opinion with peace, understanding, and respect? You can have that kind of freedom.
